Tirnavos in mainland Greece, and Burgas and Pomorie in coastland Bulgaria seem vastly different at first sight.
Tirnavos is situated at the shadow of the Olympus Mountain, Burgas and Pomorie lie on the Black Sea coast. The inhabitants of these areas don’t seem to share many things in common: people from Tirnavos live on the plains, while people from Burgas and Pomorie live by the sea.
But they do have one thing in common - both of them are masters of the art of making great distilled drinks. They both are proud of the products that bear their names. Since the 14th century the people from Tirnavos, Burgas and Pomorie enjoy responsibly their distilled tradition together with friends and guests.
Nowadays the European Union denominates this tradition with Established EU Geographical Indications, recognizing the linkage of origin with quality and reputation.
